Do you feel fully confident in your ability to complete a screen for oral/dental/swallowing issues, test for appropriate IDDSI textures, complete a nutrition-focused physical exam and verify proper coding and reimbursement for obesity, texure alterations, malnutrition, IV’s and enteral nutrition? Are your nutrition services valued and compensated appropriately? Are you given enough hours to do your work? Are you providing the best possible food and nutrition services to your residents? If you answered no to any or all of these questions, this session is perfect for you.

To begin this interactive 1/2 day workshop, you will be introduced to a real life story of a small group of RDN’s who increased annual revenues up to $2.1 million dollars in 17 LTC facilities - all while improving care and increasing visibility and value of dietitian services. Throughout the session, your instructors (RDN, RN/MDS consultant and SLP from the above mentioned team) will teach you important clinical and communication skills so you can do the same.

Hands-on training includes:

Dysphagia and oral/dental screening
NFPE and malnutrition screening and assessment
IDDSI food texture testing
Coding and calculating revenues based on accurately identifying resident clinical status

The session will end with a panel of experts who can answer any of your parting questions, so you can leave the workshop ready to touch, teach, treat, code and make money!
